LEX LAFOY FLEXES ONCE AGAIN

22 is the fifth recorded release by Durban-born rapper Lex LaFoy. The EP boasts four songs produced by Congolese/Joburg producer and artist Marco Benz with two remixes by guest producer Durban’s Dave Audinary.

Flexing her versatility and range, Lex LaFoy enters a new sound on 22. Dabbling in trap, RnB soul and afrobeat she explores themes like
sexuality, love and desire. Eastern Cape/Durban rapper Otarel features on the playful Dolphins which opens with a sample from African legendary spiritualist
and healer Credo Mutwa, while Lord Script of Dope Artists features on the sultry RnB Soul.

When asked about the title of the EP Lex explains:
"I'm born on the 22nd of May. Marco's born on the 22nd of November, and I've always wanted to name a project of mine 22. 22 is a power number, and symbolizes the manifestation of dreams. Having often written from a non-gendered space before, in this project I openly explore my vulnerability and femininity reclaiming them as forms of strength and power”.
