Good morning and happy Mondays good people, todays good read comes from a lady who goes by the name Bonolo Moepi. Here is a Brief overview about this lovely poet.
"I'm a free spirited being and believe in the bigger ability of a paper
and ink. I'm kinda feminist when it comes to my poetry. I believe in art
and I embrace art."
THE SEX SLAVES THEY TURNED US INTO …
by: Bonolo Moepi
That young freedom they took away from us, when they enslaved us
When they chained us and molested us
We laid there on the floor shattered, bruised and hopeless
He bid no farewell instead he became hungrier
We wished to go back home
Were no men would touch
We banned ourselves from any love and affection
We despised men left to believe that they were all the same
But we let them in by wearing our short dresses and cropped shirts
I repeat but we let them in as we wore our short dresses and cropped shirts
They embraced our nakedness
Oh God how we felt like filth
The marks they left on our bodies, the ones we showered hours to get rid of
They stayed glued to our skin
They were more aggressive than the lion
We were their assets
He clarified it when he said ‘’ I own you’’
Freedom was a myth for we had no peace
When they chained us and molested us
We laid there on the floor shattered, bruised and hopeless
He bid no farewell instead he became hungrier
We wished to go back home
Were no men would touch
We banned ourselves from any love and affection
We despised men left to believe that they were all the same
But we let them in by wearing our short dresses and cropped shirts
I repeat but we let them in as we wore our short dresses and cropped shirts
They embraced our nakedness
Oh God how we felt like filth
The marks they left on our bodies, the ones we showered hours to get rid of
They stayed glued to our skin
They were more aggressive than the lion
We were their assets
He clarified it when he said ‘’ I own you’’
Freedom was a myth for we had no peace
